EVERYONE hit the ground bowling when outdoor play resumed at Inkberrow Bowls Club on Sunday. (13 April)

The club is looking forward to an action packed summer season - the start of its 30th anniversary year.

Alan Slater, Club President, was interviewed on BBC Hereford and Worcester by Malcolm Boyden last week. The broadcaster said he was happy to adopt Inkberrow as ‘his’ bowling club.

Inkberrow is the legendary home of ‘The Archers’ BBC Radio series.

The club is holding its annual Open Day on Saturday 10 May, 2pm-5pm.

“Everyone is welcome, we’re extremely hospitable – very friendly and good company”, said Alan during the interview.

“There will be free tea and cake, and the bar will be open. Bowls isn’t just for retired people. There’s free coaching for those who haven’t bowled before”.

Inkberrow will play 32 league matches throughout Worcestershire, 40 friendlies in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire plus club competitions, before mid-September.
